Instructions for Cool Edit scripts Bill McFadden 06-Feb-04 billmc@rdrop.com For latest version, see: http://www.rdrop.com/users/billmc Introduction The two files, CE2K.scp and CEPro.scp, are scripts that divide a Cool Edit or Adobe Audition recording into 20 tracks of equal length. These are plain text files that can be viewed or edited with any text editor. Older CD players tend to cut off the first or last fraction of a second of some CDs. To get around that, these scripts add 0.5 seconds of silence at the beginning and 1 second at the end of the recording. The scripts can be edited to modify or remove this feature. Instructions for use 1. Copy the appropriate script file onto your system: o CE2K.scp is used with Cool Edit 2000 o CEPro.scp is used with Cool Edit Pro and Adobe Audition 1. Start Cool Edit or Adobe Audition and click the scroll (script) icon. 2. Click the "Open" button, browse to the directory containing the script, and select the script file. 3. A script named "Split" will appear in the left pane of the script dialog box. Select it with the mouse. 4. Click the "Run" button to divide the recording into 20 tracks. 5. To export the tracks for CD burning, open the Cue List, highlight Cues 1-20, and click on the "Batch" button. Configure the batch parameters as necessary, and click "OK." NOTE: The Cool Edit Pro (Adobe Audition) script creates an erroneous Cue21. I don't know how to prevent it, but it's harmless.
